Few figures have had a greater impact on the global live music business than Rob Light. Over four decades at CAA, he’s helped define what it means to represent artists at the highest level, been a part of breaking a number of artists, and enhanced the careers of countless superstars. Light’s leadership and team-oriented philosophy have made CAA’s music division a world leader for most of those 40+ years.

Having led the music department for 28 years, Light oversaw the agency’s expansion into London, Nashville, New York, and Miami, and pioneered a model that integrates touring with film, television, and brand partnerships. He recently passed on that leadership when he transitioned from head of worldwide music to become one of CAA’s managing directors.

In his first-ever ILMC appearance, Light takes the Hot Seat to reflect on key moments from his remarkable career, the evolution of artist representation and the agency model, and to discuss his vision for the business over the next two decades.
